Introduction

General

This is a small guide for users who want to run X Applications on an IRIX (or any other UNIX machine) from their Windows desktop. By default no Windows installation has any other means of connecting to a UNIX box than console based telnet and ftp programs.

For accessing X applications on a UNIX host from a windows box there are a lot of possible third party solutions which install an X server on a Windows machine so that X applications can redirect their display and work along with native Windows programs on the same desktop.
