Galileo 1.0
Description
Introduction
Galileo 1.0 is a basic design of video input and output hardware for Indigo, Indigo 2 and Indy systems. Because of the differences in the hardware of these systems various video options based on the Galileo 1.0 design were introduced. Not all of these supported the full set of Galileo 1.0 features.
Galileo 1.0 for Indigo
The Indigo Video option was supported on systems with Express graphics only. The option was able to handle both analog as well as digital video.
The board itself features only one digital and one analog connector. To the analog connector the Galileo Analog Breakout Box can be connected. It features a full set of analog video inputs and outputs. The digital connector can be used with either a Digital Breakout Box or an Indy Cam.
Indigo Video can be used in connection with Cosmo Compress (via digital cable).
Galileo 1.0 for Indigo 2
For the Indigo 2 three different options based on the Galileo 1.0 design were introduced. The first two ones were intended for Express or Extreme graphics, the third one for Impact graphics.
Indigo 2 Video was a video option with reduced features for Express or Extreme graphics only. Instead of the Galileo Analog Breakout Box an also reduced version could be used as external dongle with analog video inputs and outputs. A digital connector, also called Indy Cam connector, is present. Connecting Cosmo Compress via digital cable is supported.
Galileo Video is a full implementation of the Galileo 1.0 design intended for Express or Extreme graphics. It supports both digital as well as analog video via Digital Breakout Box and Analog Breakout Box. It is also possible to use the Indy Cam as digital video input device. Connecting Cosmo Compress via digital cable is supported.
As the name implies Indigo 2 Video for Impact is a reduced feature Galileo 1.0 board for Impact graphics.
Galileo 1.0 for Indy
For the Indy system Galileo 1.0 boards were available as "Indy Video". Either Newport or Express graphics were supported.
It supported only analog video, the video connectors were on the board itself. A breakout box was not available for the Indy video option itself.
Indy Video can be used along with Cosmo Compress (via ribbon cable).
